Business Travel World Awards 2009 - All finalists to present
29.07.08
All those shortlisted in the 2009 BTW Awards will be required to present to the judges.
The judges are to interview the finalists in all categories in this year’s Business Travel World Awards. In an innovation aimed at ensuring that the “best of the best” are named in every category the judges will interview a representative of all shortlisted categories and teams.
Richard Tams, general manager UK and Global Corporate Sales British Airways, and a 2009 judge, says: “The judges felt that by interviewing the finalists for all the awards, it would supplement the information included in the written submission and also give the judges the opportunity to question the nominees on any aspects of their business not covered fully within the submissions. For reasons of practicality, entrants are required to limit the number of words in the written submission and this would allow greater discussion on the key elements that the judges are looking for.'
All submissions must be made by a written entry on the website but in the past only the management awards, namely corporate travel management team and environmental ambassador, had to present before the judging board. For the 2009 Awards all shortlisted and going into the final round must face the panel.
The judges recommend strongly that any company shortlisted send someone with hands-on experience to guarantee knowledge of any potential questions and answers.
Judging dates are 20 November, 21 November, 27 November, 28 November and 2 December and entrants are strongly urged to tentatively reserve all these dates. Business Travel World can not allocate categories to dates until after the entries close on Friday, 17 October in order to ensure that there are no conflicts of interest as no judge is allowed to be present at any stage of the deliberations on a category in which he/she or his or her employer might have an interest.
The winners of the 2009 Awards will be announced at a black-tie dinner at the Grosvenor House on Monday, 19 January. Go to book a table to secure your place on the night.
