New initiatve for 2009 Awards

The Business Travel World Awards 2009 judges have uploaded their "Judges' tips" onto the Awards website. This initiative aims to address entrants’ requests for more specific guidelines as to what the judges look for in successful entries. The tips will be more useful than ever now that all shortlisted candidates must be interviewed by the judges.

Those interviews will take place on 20 November, 21 November, 27 November, 28 November and 2 December and entrants are strongly urged to reserve provisionally all these dates. Business Travel World cannot allocate category interviews to specific dates until after the entries close on Friday, 17 October in order to ensure that there are no conflicts of interest. No judge is allowed to be present at any stage of the deliberations on a category in which he/she or his or her employer might have an interest.

The judges for the Business Travel World Awards 2009 are Simon Barker, NIS Europe; Bernadette Basterfield, J P Morgan Chase; David Brown, Travelport; Greg Nugent, Eurostar; Peter Reglar, Business Travel Direct; Andrew Solum, TIA Global; Richard Tams, British Airways; Floyd Widener, Carlson Wagonlit Travel; and Ray Wooldridge, Bank of America.

The platinum sponsors of the 2009 Business Travel World Awards are Barclaycard Business, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Eurostar, Evolvi, Hotelscene, HSBC, Marriott and Qatar Airways.
